Have you ever noticed how the world is full of quirky people? Everywhere you go, there are those with unconventional styles, unique fears, or mysterious habits. In fact, aren’t we all a little weird in our own way? From award-winning creators Victor D. O. Santos and Catarina Sobral, People Are Weird takes a child’s perspective to explore the many quirks that make us human. The takeaway? Being weird is normal—and maybe it’s even weird to be normal!

A touching, poetic inter-generational story about friendship that takes place on the Canadian prairies. Christine lives in a small windswept prairie city where time moves slowly. One morning, at the height of a hot, dry summer, she befriends an old man who lives just a few streets over. As their unlikely friendship grows, they hatch a plan to visit Lake Winnipeg, a vast inland ocean the old man longs to see again and the young girl can only imagine.

NaMOOste offers a fun and engaging way to introduce young children to yoga, mindfulness and social-emotional learning.

Join 13 adorable animals as they practice yoga poses and show young readers the different ways yoga can help care for your body and mind. Each animal uses yoga to achieve a different social-emotional skill, such as patience, resilience and confidence.

Transitioning children from energetic movement during their day to a calm state before bedtime (or anytime!) can be a tricky process. Yoga is a great way to help kids transition to a more relaxed state without completely halting movement.

When grief feels overwhelming, You Know I’m Here reminds children that love endures beyond death—and they are never alone.

This moving poem, written from the perspective of a mother who has passed away, offers children a gentle, honest way to understand grief and death. Through lyrical verses that speak directly to a child’s heart, You Know I’m Here affirms that the bond between loved ones transcends physical separation with words like, “I’m never far away—I’m in your thoughts, your hopes, your heart.”

Born from a profound personal experience, author Jon Reider lost his own mother, Myra, when he was just three years old. That childhood loss, and the silence that so often surrounds grief, inspired him to create both this book and the Myra’s Kids Foundation—a nonprofit organization committed to ensuring no child grieves alone.

You Know I’m Here began as a poem read aloud each summer at Myra’s Kids annual grief camp. Each year, the children release glowing lanterns onto the water’s surface under a canopy of stars at the camp’s sacred lantern ceremony, where earth and sky connect, and children feel the presence of those they’ve lost.

Then, in the tender moments when stars illuminate the night sky and lanterns set adrift on still waters, Jon’s voice speaks the words every grieving child longs to hear: “You know I’m here.”

Whether read in quiet remembrance or shared between caregivers and children navigating the concept or experience of loss together, You Know I’m Here offers a comforting embrace through words. It reassures children that their loved ones remain present in memories, in moments of joy and in the quiet spaces between heartbeats.

All proceeds from each book sold supports the continued work of Myra’s Kids Foundation, helping more children find their voice in grief through free year-round support programs and summer camps where they can meet other children sharing similar experiences in a safe and nurturing environment.

For every child who has experienced loss, this book is a lantern in the darkness — a reminder that they are never alone.

Available now! 100% of the proceeds are donated to to The Myra’s Kids Foundation

A touching portrayal of a young visually impaired boy who opens his heart to others.

Knock! Knock! Choo! Choo! Vroom! Vroom! As Russell awaits a visit from his brother, with every sound he wonders: Is Angus here? No, not yet. But with his ears — and his heart — wide open, Russel responds to the calls of a series of strangers who become his friends. Good thing because… Ting-a-ling! Ting-a-ling! Did you hear that? It sounds like Angus needs to be rescued!

Illustrated by Marie Lafrance, narrated by Thomas Hellman.

Imagine a daily island hubbub with warm breezes, salt water and music flowing through towns and countryside. Twelve traditional French Creole lullabies and nursery rhymes from Haiti and Reunion pay homage to community, family ties, work, love and life’s passages. The melodies included celebrate history, language and culture, with sounds of indigenous instruments alongside performances of women, men and children. Colourful illustrations of tropical animals, magical characters, people and places complete this collection that whisks readers away on a fanciful journey. Lyrics appear transcribed in their French-Creole dialects and translated into English, followed by educational notes on the cultural background of each song.

A comforting, poetic picture book about the beauty and brutality of life and death, inspired by two Icelandic volcanoes, from award-winning creator Marine Schneider

Carried in by a strong wind, a tiny creature named Hekla twirls delicately into a crater, falling at the feet—and, very suddenly, into the life—of an old giant named Laki. Each is vastly different from the other: Laki is a solitary being, preferring order and calmness, while Hekla is young, spirited, and messy. But in their newfound state of coexistence, they learn to live together and help each other grow, forging an attachment that binds them in life—and in death. Inspired by two Icelandic volcanoes, Hekla and Laki is a masterstroke of text and image about the beauty and the brutality of life, the passing of knowledge over time, and the sense of optimism that emerges in death.

It’s a germ’s world. We’re just living in it!

In Club Microbe, Elise Gravel teaches young readers that germs live all around us—and even inside of us! Guided by Gravel in this formidable introduction to the fascinating world of microorganisms, we learn that some microbes get a bad rep for making us sick, but that most are helpful creatures that allow us to digest food, make cheese, and even enable snowflakes to form in winter.

In her signature colorful cartoon style, Gravel describes the invisible work of microorganisms that aid in creating our food, producing oxygen, and keeping our planet alive. She gives us a tour of the heroes and the villains of the microbe world, stopping to marvel at their unique names and wondrous shapes.

Following the perennial success of The Mushroom Fan Club and The Bug Club, this latest installment of the hit science-focused collection will deepen readers’ curiosity for all aspects of the natural world. A whimsical primer on the microscopic life that surrounds us, Club Microbe is sure to pique the interest (and imagination!) of any young scientist.
