DESCRIPTION:July 2\, 2026\nThe Backyard Theatre\, Teesri Duniya Theatre (251 Ave Pins)\n\nReadings at 6 pm.\n \n\n\nThe Montreal Review of Books launches its Summer 2026 issue on Thursday\, July 2 in the Grande Gallerie of Teesri Duniya Theatre (Cité-des-Hospitalières\, 251 Ave Pins). Please note that this is an outdoor venue with a covered roof\, with three to four steps leading to the seating area. There will be signage indicating the way.\n \nDoors open at 5:30 pm\, and mRb readings begin at 6:00 with featured authors Natalie Doonan (Eating the Urban Wild\, McGill-Queen’s University Press)\, Guy Rex Rodgers (What We Choose to Forget\, ELAN) and Chanel Sutherland (Layaway Child\, House of Anansi). The authors will be available to sign books after the readings. Admission is free.\n\n \nFor those unable to attend in person\, readings will be live-streamed on our YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/@aelaq\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue accessibility information:The Backyard Theatre is an outdoor\, covered event space adjoining the Cité-des-Hospitalières. Guests may enter from the gardens or from the building. The building is wheelchair accessible by ramp and elevator\, entrance to the left of the main doors at 251 Avenue des Pins Ouest. There is a short flight of steps leading to the landing where the readings will take place. SUMMARY:2026 Read Quebec Book Fair
DESCRIPTION:The Read Quebec Book Fair returns to Casa d’Italia December 5-6\, 2026! Join us for special events\, author signings\, and the latest releases from Canadian writers and publishers.  \nProduced by the Association of English-language Publishers of Quebec (AELAQ)\, the Fair celebrates the vibrancy of English-language writing\, publishing\, and translation in Quebec.  \nTaking place in the historic Casa d’Italia\, the Fair will present a full weekend of programming\, including a lightning round with local poets\, a conversation between graphic novelists Lee Lai and Arizona O’Neill\, and a conversation with Everyday Reconciliation authors Derek Aronhie:nens Montour and Elin Sandberg Miller. We’ll also be hosting another edition of speed-dating event for writers and editors\, where up-and-coming and seasoned wordsmiths will have the opportunity to deliver their pitches directly to publishers\, as well as a panel discussion on publishing in translation. \nThe Fair will offer plenty of fun for young booklovers in a cozy\, book-filled Kids’ Nook both days\, and a storytime reading with Gillian Sze. \nStick around for our 5 à 7 opening cocktail on Saturday for delicious hors d’oeuvres and a chance to connect with Montreal’s vibrant literary community. \nCasa d’Italia is located at 505 Jean-Talon East\, and is fully accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. The fair takes place on the second floor\, accessible via stairs or elevator.
